Partisansanity

Like the title of this post says, today we're going to be focusing on the insanity that is partisan politics.  As anyone looking has probably noticed, our system is broken.  What most don't realize is that it's our current mode of thinking that got us into this mess.  Yet nobody is willing to analize their thoughts and realize it. 

I was watching the Daily Show last night, one from last week and I noticed this graphic that he had up from an earlier FOX broadcast.

Look at those statistics that they have up on screen.  If you have trouble reading it, it's a poll that asked people what their #1 quality is in the republican front runner, Mitt Romney.  The stickler is what quality won, by what looks like an extremely wide margin.  41% of the people polled said that Mitt Romney's number one quality is that "He can beat Obama."  To repeat:

41% of people thought Mitt Ronmey's #1 quality to be president is that he can beat Obama.

This is how absolutely ignorant people are to the problems that their country is facing.  Does anyone care about what this guy actually stands for?  Does anyone care what kind of policies he's going to institute?

The problem most people don't seem to realize is that both parties are corrupt to the core.  Do you really think we could've gotten to this point as a country without corruption at the top?

I hear this kind of crap from people I know all the time.  "If we could just get our guys in office then we would have a chance to turn this around."  Well guess what, republicans had a super-majority while Bush was in office and we know how that went.  Obama also had a super-majority and we see how well that worked also.

So how well is the current president doing to fight for the 99%? 

On new years eve he signed the NDAA, legalizing Indefinite detention.  On March 16th he signed an executive order legalizing the confiscation of ALL american resources for "national security" yet also in peacetime (Order itself).  Recently, the JOBS act was signed, opening the door for a whole littany of further financial fraud.

Obviously, Obama isn't doing much good for us 99%ers.

The real point here is that the war is not a Right vs. Left war.  The 1% get you to talk right vs. left while they steal everything.  I'll ask this again.... Who has been put to justice for the rampant financial fraud that is crashing the entire world economy?  How come a poor person that steals just enough food to feed his family gets put in jail for years and people that steal billions (inderectly killing millions) go completely unpunished? This is why nothing has changed since the financial collapse of 2008.  When fraud becomes the norm then it forces otherwise honest businessmen to commit fraud to stay competitive.

If you don't punish illegal activity then you are condoning it.

We as a country have two parties in this war, and they are not republican and democrat.  The real parties are have's and have not's.  The rich (meaning powerful in a country of unlimitied campaign contributions) can rape and pillage freely without any justice yet the rest of us can't even lawfully protest the injustice without being jailed.

Next time you listen to the mainstream news tell you what to think, remember which side of the financial war they are on because I don't know too many poor/middle class people in that line of work.

This war is coming from the top, not the right or left.
